4* Runaway

I swear I didn’t plan this much but it actually was kind of spontaneous: writing about two of my favorite singers in the same weekend… Bruno Mars and John Bon Jovi sharing a word for their song’s titles!

This song however is different and precise when it talks about “runaway” as a noun. The common case of the good girl gone bad because at the end being perfect gets boring 😉 society can influence our thoughts with all that btl propaganda of what cool social life is or stereotypes of plastic girls. Also it is all about being a young REBEL trying to express yourself in a different radical way…

Their official music video shows clearly the release time of this hit, with their old visual effects and the whole band with long long hair! Yeah, it was release long time ago… but still it keeps being cool (!)

…About the lyrics :

On the street where you live girls talk about their social lives
They’re made of lipstick, plastic and paint, a touch of sable in their eyes
All your life all you’ve asked when’s your daddy gonna talk to you
You were living in another world tryin’ to get your message through

No one heard a single word you said
They should have seen it in your eyes
What was going around your heart.

Ooh, she’s a little runaway.
Daddys girl learned fast
All those things he couldn’t say.

A different line every night guaranteed to blow your mind
See you out on the streets, call me for a wild time
So you sit home alone cause there’s nothing left that you can do
There’s only pictures hung in the shadows left there to look at you

You know she likes the lights at nights on the neon broadway signs
She don’t really mind, it’s only love she hoped to find

Ooh, she’s a little runaway
Daddys girl learned fast
Now she works the night away.

Musical Weekend CONCLUSION:

I really want to RUNAWAY. Yeah, go far away without looking back or just getting free of conventionalities… and it can be a good thing or a wild idea as Bruno Mars recommended sometimes you must runaway to keep yourself out of trouble or as Bon Jovi tells us it can be a way of expressing everything you’ve kept in silence.
