9* Toothpaste kisses

20” Notice him/her for the first time. Locked eyes.

25” First approach. Nervousness. Lost stare. Sigh…

30” First kiss.

After that you wait a while but then get surprised.

43” Change of lips. Change of type.

55” Someone else come into his/her life.

1:04’ Lose her/him. Someone else wins.

1:15’ Change of pace.

1:28’ Start again.

1:44’ Everybody finds their place.

1:52’ Even if society can’t understand.

By now you probably think you have had enough.

2:00’ Have you?

2:08’ …

2:16’ Keep fighting.

2:22’ Fight back.

2:27’ Everything finishes as it started, being true and new…

What you just read was a narration of love.

Since the first moment when you lock eyes with someone special, moving with the rush that something new produces and including the nervousness, you experience your first love.

And suddenly you get surprised because something you didn’t expect comes into scene and everything changes. People change, Some will win while others lose and the whole rhythm of love refreshes itself.

The cycle begins again but now in another time and different place. And may be that’s why now it is more confusing than before and you can’t understand, yet, you’ll keep loving because who can stop?

At the end everything has change but the feeling remains, as strong and amusing as the first time… ❤

Is that what you read?

Or you just read the script of the official music video of today’s song “Toothpaste kisses” as I interpretate the sequence of 13 different kisses from 13 different couples recorded in a video of 2:32’ by “The Maccabees”

This indie rock band from London, England has released 3 albums since 2006 (!) In their first album “Colour it in” they include this beautiful, acoustic song that carry us through a short span and reduce lyrics direct to looseness and dreaming…

…And here the prove that simple is always good, lyrics :

Cradle me
I’ll cradle you
I’ll win your heart
with a woop-a-woo
pulling shapes just for your eyes

So with toothpaste kisses and lines
I’ll be yours and you’ll be…

Lay with me, I’ll lay with you
we’ll do the things that lovers do
put the stars in our eyes
and with heart shaped bruises
and late night kisses
divine.
