And I don’t give a damn about my bad reputation !
She’s a rock goddess. No matter what she’s singing (or even if she’s not singing) she’s always rocking!
Joan Jett is an american rock guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer and occasional actress from Pennsylvania(!)
It could be her rocker fashion style, her feminist personality, her amazing mezzo -soprano vocals or her social activism what makes her a world icon.
Today’s song is the hit record from 1982 of her band “Joan Jett and the Blackhearts” who played hard/punk/alternative rock and who released 10 studio albums together.
The video starts with the band’s famous record “Bad Reputation” as background song and Joan Jett walking on the street with her black leather jacket and gloves, killer look and messy hairstyle, a supposedly seveteen year-old boy by the jukebox and then her band playing and clapping along through the chorus!
She’s got an amazing stare, her eyes say “i don’t care” as her mouth claims she wants to have fun, she’s got a carefree attitude and an easygoing rhythm…
One of the strongest points of this song is the crowd singing and clapping along in the chorus because it gives you the chills of being in a concert when you are singing your love out from the bottom of your heart and you feel free and renewed by letting go all shyness, not caring and just enjoying the music (as the uncomparable guitar solo) !
The lyrics could be nothing but common, could be… but they have become an anthem since who doesn’t loves rock & roll?
Love should be as easy and good as rock & roll 😉 like when you listen to a song and you like it then you just start singing out loud. When you see someone you like you should just go and tell them, be brave and take your time to enjoy the feeling!
The next quote goes well with a past post I wrote, a fictional short story you might want to read in your free time ❤ and why not think about it? ROCK ON.
…And the rocker lyrics (english/spanish) :
I saw him dancin’ there by the record machine
I knew he must a been about seventeen
The beat was goin’ strong
Playin’ my favorite song
An’ I could tell it wouldn’t be long
Till he was with me, yeah me
And I could tell it wouldn’t be long
Till he was with me, yeah me, singin’
I love rock n’ roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n’ roll
So come and take your time and dance with me…
He smiled so I got up and asked for his name
That don’t matter, he said, ’cause it’s all the same
Said can I take you home where we can be alone
And next we were movin on
He was with me, yeah me
Next we were movin’ on
He was with me, yeah me, singin’
